The first card I received, the computer could recognize the card, but it wouldn't start up. That ended up being firewirr pack to remove as there is a power socket on the board and I just about had to pry the thing apart to get the power cord out of the card.
If you have a end that has the spring assist to push the adapter out that helps a lot I switched on my second card. The second card worked great, I used it to upload my old MiniDV movies and worked like a charm.
